ALLGEMEINE INFORMATIONEN
Educación para Todos ist ein nicht-profitorientiertes Programm zur Vermittlung spanischer Sprache und guatemaltekischer Kultur. Es wurde 1991 in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, gegründet.

Unser Programm bietet effektivste Lernerfahrung durch Kontakt mit der Sprache und Kultur Guatemalas. Wir bieten ein intensives eins-zu-eins Studienprogramm, den Anschluss an eine guatemaltekische Gastfamilie
und wöchentliche kulturelle, soziale und politische Aktivitäten aus dem Bereich von Guatemala- und Lateinamerika-Studien.

UNSER SPRACHPROGRAMM
Das Programm beinhaltet fünf Stunden täglich eins zu eins Unterricht über fünf Tage die Woche.

Unser Angebot ist geschaffen für jede gewünschte Zeitspanne und für jedes Spanischniveau. Unsere Lehrkräfte verfolgen alle ihre eigenen Lehrmethoden. Sie richten sich dabei nach einem festen Kurrikulum, das unterteilt ist in Anfänger, Mittelstufe und Fortgeschrittene.

UNSERE LEHRKRÄFTE
Alle unsere Lehrer und Lehrerinnen sind entweder eingeschrieben oder haben einen Studienabschluss von der Universität San Carlos, der autonomen nationalen Universität in Quetzaltenango. Alle LehrerInnen teilen eine gemeinsame Vision von sozialer Gerechtigkeit und Frieden für ihr Land. Alle unsere Lehrkräfte habe etwa acht Jahre Lehrerfahrung mit Spanisch als Fremdsprache für Studierende aus aller Welt.

GUATEMALTEKISCHEN ALLTAG ERLEBEN
Am ersten Montag Deines Unterrichts wirst Du zu Deiner Gastfamilie gebracht. Das Leben in einer guatemaltekischen Familie ist einer der wichtigsten Aspekte der Sprach- und Kulturerfahrung unseres Programms.
Du wirst Deine neu erworbenen Sprachfähigkeiten vom morgendlichen Aufwachen bis zum Schlafengehen am Abend ausprobieren können. Wir suchen Familien aus, die unsere Studierenden wie ein zusätzliches Familienmitglied behandeln.

Du wirst Gelegenheit haben, an täglichen Aktivitäten und Unterhaltungen Deiner Gastfamilie teilzunehmen. Unsere Gastfamilien wissen um die notwendige Vorsicht bei der Zubereitung des Essens. Sie passen ihr Kochen den Ernährungsbedürfnissen der Studierenden an.

AKTIVITÄTEN UND TRIPS
Die Schule organisiert tägliche Veranstaltungen zur Ergänzung des Unterrichts, wie zum Beispiel Konferenzen, Dokumentarfilme, Diskussionsforen und Filme. Oft unternehmen wir mit unseren Studierenden Ausflüge zu ländlichen Kooperativen und Basisorganisationen der Bevölkerung. Die Schule bietet auch die Möglichkeit, Radtouren zu indigenen Dörfern zu unternehmen.
Außerdem gibt es Vulkanbesteigungen, Ausflüge zum Strand und zu heißen Quellen, so wie zu lokalen Wochenmärkten.

FREIWILLIGENARBEIT
Ein Schwerpunkt unserer Arbeit ist es, die Studierenden in das hiesige Leben einzubeziehen. Wir arbeiten als Kontaktstelle zwischen denen, die helfen wollen und denen, die hier Hilfe benötigen. Wir unterhalten viele Verbindungen zu Institutionen und Organisationen in und um Quetzaltenango. Freiwilligenarbeit gibt den Studierenden die Chance, ihr Spanisch anzuwenden. Zugleich lernen sie im direkten Kontakt Realitäten des Lebens hier in Guatemala kennen.

Die Preise beinhalten Unterricht, Unterkunft in einer guatemaltekischen Gastfamilie, drei Mahlzeiten täglich (inkl. Wochenende) und gemeinsame Aktivitäten.

Intensive Spanish Language and Cultural Immersion Program in Guatemala.

Educación para Todos is a non-profit Spanish language and cultural immersion program started in 1991 in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala.
Our program provides the most effective learning experience by immersing the student in the language and culture of Guatemala.

This is acheived through an intensive one-on-one study program, living with a Guatemalan family and weekly organized cultural, social and political events that focus on Guatemalan and Latin American Studies.

OUR LANGUAGE PROGRAM
The program includes 5 hours a day of one-on-one intensive instrution five days a week. Our program is designed for various lengths of time and levels of Spanish. Although all our teachers have their own varying methods, all follow a set curriculum that is divided into beginner, intermediate and advanced classifications.

OUR TEACHERS
All our teachers are either enrolled or have graduated a University. Although their backgrounds vary, they all share a common vision of social justice and peace for ther country. All of our teacher have approximately eight years of experience teaching Spanish as a second language to students from many different backgrounds.

LIVING THE GUATEMALAN WAY
On the first Monday of your classes, you will be taken to meet your family at your new home. Staying with a Guatemalan family is one of the most important parts of the language and cultural experience. You will be practicing your newly acquired language skills from the moment you wake up until you go to bed.
We seek families that treat students like an additional member of the family, inviting them to take part in daily activities and conversation.

Our families are aware of the necessary precautions when preparing food and easily adapt their cooking to students dietary needs.

ACTIVITIES AND TRIPS
The school organizes daily events aimed at supplementing the students's studies. These activities are in tne form of conferences, documentaries, round table discussions and movies. The school also takes frequent trips to area cooperatives and popular organizations. The school also provides opportunities to hike to indigenous villages, visit inner-city shanty towns, and meet with local community organizations.

For those that want to see more of the surrounding area and enjoy the beauty of the land and the people,
the school takes weekly excursions such as volcano hikes and trips to the beach, hot springs, hot baths, steam baths and area markets.

VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
Part of our focus is to get students involved while at the same time fulfilling the needs of the people here. In order to do this, we work as a link between those who want to serve and the people who need help. We have several contacts with agencies and organizations in and around Quetzaltenango. This not only gives the student a chance to use his/her Spanish, but they can see and experience more of the reality of this area.
